More rain on the way

7th October 2022
There's a lot of talk about the incoming weather system but at this stage it doesn't look like anything too severe for our district, although initial warnings have been issued for the Hunter, Williams and Paterson Rivers to our north.

Certainly it's going to be a wet afternoon and weekend and the Bureau is predicting the heaviest falls of up to 40mm in the local area on Saturday, but that will hopefully be the worst of it.
Still, it'd be wise to keep an eye on things over the next few days in case things change.
Incidentally, the official weather station at Cooranbong has recorded 1700mm of rain so far this year and we still have three months of the year left. The average is 1063mm.
Stay safe, and remember to keep up to date via NSW SES Lake Macquarie Unit, NSW SES Cooranbong Unit , Bureau of Meteorology and 1233 ABC Newcastle.
