Aerial helicopter patrols will be conducted by Ausgrid this week as planned maintenance across the local electricity network from Tuesday 3 September to Friday, 6 September. Patrols will be during daylight hours (weather permitting) at low altitude which may startle pets and livestock. Residents may want to secure cattle and livestock during these patrols. Centennial Myuna will undertake a low impact, non-intrusive geophysical exploration survey over approximately 2 weeks starting in early September 2024. Work will take place 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. The survey will be completed in two areas of Lake Macquarie as shown below. This will determine the rockhead cover between the mine workings and the lakebed and identify geological features in the coal seam. Centennial Myuna Surveys - 31st August 2024

Honouring Labor's election promise, Premier Chris Minns has finally announced dates for the 2024 NSW Drug Summit. It will be held on December 4-5 in Sydney with regional dates in October still to be announced. It's been 25 years since the 1999 Drug Summit, held by then Premier Bob Carr, in response to the rising Heroin crisis in NSW. This is a key opportunity for the Government to gain insight into the critical issues facing NSW due to rising drug statistics and the current 2024 NSW Drug Summit - 12th July 2024
