While it’s arguable that we’ve had some luck in avoiding the worst of possible fires, there is no doubt that it has been more about good management by our emergency services including RFS, Fire and Rescue and police.

These times also place a bigger load on ambulance and health services and see organisations such as SES prepped and ready to assist. Great job.

The community have been wonderful in supporting our frontline firies and that has been really appreciated.

I was with Mandalong brigade as they ran the sausage sizzle at Morisset Bunnings this morning and it was amazing to see the number of people coming to them just to make a donation. Great community spirit!

As to the Wangi/Awaba fire, it has been well controlled but will be watched with mopping up needed for a while.

Thankfully weather conditions will be better for a while hopefully giving everyone a chance to regroup and recuperate. Thanks to everyone who has helped in any way.
