Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) is a scourge on our society with two thirds of coercive control now including Technology Facilitated Violence (TFV).

This morning my staff attended the Hunter DFV Consortium in partnership with WorkVentures, and supported by Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation and Greater Charitable Foundation, to deliver the digitisation of the Technology Facilitated Abuse Playbook initiative.

There was an impressive panel of experts and speakers who spoke about this innovative two-year initiative to develop a digitised, searchable resource for DFV workers across the Hunter region, enabling them to access timely information, guidance, and referrals to better support clients experiencing tech-facilitated abuse.

It will also include the development of online training modules and in-person workshops tailored for Hunter DFV workers.

I wish there was no need for these kinds of services to exist, but I am proud of the hard work being delivered by the incredible people behind this initiative. I know this will be an amazing resource to combat DFV and TFV in our region and beyond.
