Honouring Labor's election promise, Premier Chris Minns has finally announced dates for the 2024 NSW Drug Summit. Honouring Labor's election promise, Premier Chris Minns has finally announced dates for the 2024 NSW Drug Summit. It will be held on December 4-5 in Sydney with regional dates in October still to be announced.

It's been 25 years since the 1999 Drug Summit, held by then Premier Bob Carr, in response to the rising Heroin crisis in NSW. This is a key opportunity for the Government to gain insight into the critical issues facing NSW due to rising drug statistics and the current methamphetamine/ice epidemic.

This news was announced alongside a $33.9m funding boost to create and support 12 drug and alcohol support hubs.

I commend the NSW Government for acknowledging this growing problem. I look forward to addressing the devastating damage drug abuse causes to our families and communities.
