Parking for Health Staff

The decision of the NSW Government to reinstate parking fees for staff at most NSW public hospitals, during a cost-of-living crisis and in the midst of a COVID-19 surge, is disappointing.

Lake Macquarie residents working at John Hunter and Gosford Hospitals have limited public transport options, particularly at times required by 24/7 shift workers. Many staff working at John Hunter and Gosford will have little choice but to bear the additional cost of over $1000 per year in parking fees, something few can afford at this time.

I have written to NSW Minister for Health Ryan Park and asked him to reconsider this decision.
