Voluntary Assisted Dying

Today is a momentous day. After many years of campaigning and 18 months after the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021 was passed by the NSW Parliament, Voluntary Assisted Dying became accessible in NSW today. I was proud to co-sponsor this bill with Alex Greenwich and others.

Sadly, many of the people who shared this journey are no longer with us. I would like to pay tribute to all the dedicated and courageous advocates who worked tirelessly to make today happen. I am also grateful to all the NSW Health clinicians and staff who have spent the last 18 months preparing for today. Thank you to Dying with Dignity NSW who have worked hard over many years to see Voluntary Assisted Dying become law in NSW and for joining us in Parliament today.
