NSW RFS "Get Ready Weekend"

With reports of temperatures beginning to climbing again, the NSW Rural Fire Service are urging Lake Macquarie residents to prepare. So let's all get stuck in for "Get Ready Weekend" and prepare our homes and communities.

With the upcoming fire season tipped to be more destructive than the summer 2019/20 bushfire season that saw devastating losses across our state, this weekend is a great time to prepare your homes for the bushfire season before you get caught out unprotected.

After three years of La Nina weather systems bringing rains and floods and hazard reduction burns over the last year being dampened by the wet weather, we now need to turn our thoughts to fires as the excess undergrowth has resulted in a larger than expected fuel load.
