58th Parliament meets for first time tomorrow
8th May 2023
The 58th NSW Parliament meets for the first time tomorrow so things have been pretty hectic over the past few weeks.
While it won't quite have the pageantry of a royal coronation, all Members will be sworn in during a traditional and historic ceremonial event from 10am at Parliament House and at Government House.
As you're aware, it's very likely that I'll be elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly tomorrow. Assuming that happens, it's going to be a very challenging role but one I'm looking forward to.
You'll be able to watch all of tomorrow's proceedings live on the webcast link HERE.
The ceremony starts at 10am with the election of the Speaker at about 10.45am.
(I'm pictured here with the outgoing Speaker Jonathan O'Dea.)
