COVID UPDATE – 11.30am TUESDAY August 23 Due to changes in data reporting and demands on my staff, please note that the Covid updates will become a weekly update from this Thursday. The weekly update will be posted at 4pm every Thursday and will contain more localised content than the current format. Thanks for your understanding. New cases in Lake Macquarie in the past 24 hours: 160. New cases in Hunter-New England Health district yesterday: 778 (Up 243 on previous day) Cases in Lake Macquarie over the past four weeks: 4288 (Down 282 on previous day) New cases statewide in past 24 hours: 5567 (Up 554 on previous day) Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 1928 (Down 34 on previous day) Covid patients in NSW ICU: 49 (Down 1 on previous day) Lives lost in NSW over the past 24 hours: 32 (Up 28 on previous day) STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES- 96.9% of people aged 16+ have had one dose
- 95.4% of people aged 16+ have had two doses
- 69.4% of people have had three doses
- 82% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose
- 78.3% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses
- 49.5% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose
