Boost for coal ash recycling plan

¿ A bit of local energy industry news which you may have missed:
¿ Firstly, Origin Energy's application to build coal ash storage and handling silos at Eraring Power Station have been approved by NSW Planning. This is a significant investment by Origin to recycle more coal ash generated by the power station, and the ash stored in the existing dam. You can read more on that project HERE.
¿ Secondly, a company called Firm Power has announced plans to install a 50-megawatt energy storage battery next to the Ausgrid Awaba Substation at 12 Toronto Rd, Awaba. This battery would be used to store energy during times of low demand and release it into the local grid during peak periods.
