¿ UPDATE ON EARLY VOTING FOR FEDERAL ELECTION
¿ Yes, it’s a Federal election now under way and not a State one, but my office is still fielding a large number of inquiries about where people can vote, and in particular what pre-poll centres are easily accessible.
¿ There are accessibility issues at the Toronto voting centre - there are stairs to the second floor voting area. Staff were assisting those who couldn't climb the stairs, but I've been advised that can no longer happen. One might have thought the AEC would put these centres in places everyone could get to!
¿ In our area a really good option for those with mobility issues will be the Cooranbong pre-poll centre which will open next Monday the 16th. No access issues there. Alternatively, the one at Cameron Park is easily accessible and might be closer for some. Locations and opening times are below.
