$76m for Mandalong Rd upgrade

Another big win for us today.
I’m at Morisset this morning with Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce and State Regional Roads Minister Sam Farraway to announce State and Federal funding commitments for a major widening of Mandalong Rd between and the M1 and Morisset.
This is a key investment in the Morisset district which is undergoing massive change with more than $1 billion of private investment happening around the town, including the Cedar Mill concert development on the former golf course and the new Bunnings/Aldi development on the northern side of Mandalong Rd.
Today, the Feds are announcing $56m and the State $20m to widen Mandalong Rd to four lanes and build two new roundabouts at the intersections with Wyee Rd and Gateway Blvd.
This will dramatically improve some of the traffic issues we have in the area. It won’t solve all of them, but this is a major step in the right direction for us.
