Caleb Baker
16th February 2022
Mr GREG PIPER (Lake Macquarie)—I'd like to extend my congratulations to an extraordinary young man who topped the State in last year's Retail Services exam for the Higher School Certificate. Caleb Baker from St Paul's Catholic College at Booragul is a true young leader. Not only is he the school's captain, but now he's on the New South Wales Education Standards Authority's 2021 First in Course merit list. What's more, he has achieved these accomplishments at the age of just 16, completing the Retail Services exam while he was in Year 11. Caleb decided to take on the HSC exam a year earlier than required to lighten his study load this year. While students from across the State had the added burden of school closures and lockdowns due to COVID-19, Caleb used the opportunity to study from home to his full advantage. He now plans to continue with the study pattern he developed last year to put him through the remainder of his Year 12 exams this year. I think it's safe to say Caleb's future will be a bright one, and I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the future.
