In some good news, capacity in our hospitals is improving so the Government has today announced that from next Monday (February 7), non-urgent elective surgery requiring an overnight stay will return to 75 per cent capacity

¿ In some good news, capacity in our hospitals is improving so the Government has today announced that from next Monday (February 7), non-urgent elective surgery requiring an overnight stay will return to 75 per cent capacity in private hospitals, and up to 75 per cent of pre pandemic levels at public hospitals in regional areas.
¿ My best wishes to all the kids going back to school today (and the many long-suffering parents and carers!). ¿ Covid patients currently in Hunter Health district hospitals: 64 (down 9 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 3 (down 4 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 2749 (down 30 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in NSW ICU: 186 (up 1 since yesterday, 70 on ventilation)
¿ New cases in Hunter Health district since yesterday: 1193 (up 308 since yesterday, 396 PCR and 1105 RAT)
¿ New cases statewide since yesterday: 12,818 (down 208on the previous day, PCR 4905 + 7913 RAT)
¿ Lives lost in NSW over the past 24 hours: 30. This brings the total number of lives lost to Covid in NSW to 1425.
¿ Lives lost in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours: 2 (one woman and one man, one aged in their 70s and one in their 80s. One was from Dungog LGA and the other from Mid Coast LGA. My sincere condolences go out to their families and friends.)
¿ STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES
- 95.4% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 94% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 39.7% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*
- 83.2% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.5% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 39.1% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
