Covid update - Thursday

Covid patients currently in Hunter Health district hospitals: 92 (down 8 since yesterday). Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 5 (down 1 since yesterday). Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 2781 (down 82 since yesterday).
¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.15am, THURSDAY JANUARY 20
¿ Covid patients currently in Hunter Health district hospitals: 92 (down 8 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 5 (down 1 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 2781 (down 82 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in NSW ICU: 212 (down 5 since yesterday)
¿ New cases in Hunter Health district since yesterday: 2911, down 278 on previous day (1645 PCR and 1266 RAT)
¿ Lives lost statewide in past 24 hours: 25 (7 less than yesterday).
¿ Lives lost in NSW since pandemic began: 978.
¿ Lives lost in Hunter Health district in past 24 hours: 3 (three men from the Lake Macquarie LGA. One was aged in his 60s, one was aged in his 70s and one was aged in his 80s. My sincere condolences to their families and friends.)
¿ New cases statewide since yesterday: 30,825 (PCR 17,647 + 13,178 RAT, down 1472 on the previous day)
¿ STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES
- 95.3% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 93.8% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 29% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*
- 82.3% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.3% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 19.1% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
¿ BOOSTER SHOTS: From tomorrow, January 21, people aged 18+ will be able to get a booster shot at three months after they received their second vaccination. This is down from the current four-month wait and will help people maintain a high level of protection against Covid-19. It doesn’t matter if you had a different vaccine for your first two doses, you can have Pfizer or Moderna for your booster. The three-month booster will be available from tomorrow at NSW Health clinics such as the Belmont hub, and from January 31 at your local GP, pharmacy etc.
