¿ Please be aware that Hunter-New England Health is no longer providing a daily breakdown of new cases by LGA. With the centralisation of rapid antigen reporting at a state level, our local case numbers are no longer an accurate reflection of COVID-19 across the local region.
Hospitalisation, ICU numbers and other important public health messages WILL STILL BE ISSUED DAILY and I will continue to post them (below). LGA breakdowns are still available HERE.
¿ I know that news will upset some people but we have to understand the workload that Health staff have at the moment. I personally want to thank Hunter Health staff for what they have provided to this point, and for what they will continue to provide under extreme circumstances.
¿ So here's the latest information which I can continue to compile daily:
¿ Covid patients currently in Hunter Health district hospitals: 116 (up 7 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in Hunter ICU: 7 (down 2 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients currently in NSW hospitals: 2576 (up 51 since yesterday)
¿ Covid patients in NSW ICU: 193 (up 9 since yesterday)
¿ New cases in Hunter Health district since yesterday: 2334 (PCR only)
¿ Total number of cases in the Hunter over the past four weeks: 41,041(PCR only)
¿ Total number of cases in Lake Macquarie over the past four weeks: 9807 (PCR only)
¿ Total number of PCR tests in the Hunter over the past four weeks: 255,862
¿ Total number of PCR tests in Lake Macquarie over the past four weeks: 65,612
¿ New cases statewide since yesterday: 48,768 (PCR + RAT)
¿ Lives lost statewide in past 24 hours: 20
¿ Lives lost in Hunter Health district in past 24 hours: 1 (a woman in her 70s from the Mid-North Coast. My condolences to her family and friends)
¿ STATEWIDE UPDATE and VACCINATION RATES
- 95.2% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 93.8% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 24.2% of people have had three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine*
- 82% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.3% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 8.9% of people aged 5-11 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 2,576 hospitalisations
- 193 people in ICU
- 20 lives lost
