Covid update - Monday

COVID UPDATE - 11.15am, MONDAY JANUARY 10 1115 new cases have been recorded in the Hunter Health district over the past 24 hours, including 284 in Lake Macquarie. Hunter Region: 881 new cases. We now have 22,486 active cases in the health district. We also have 101 local people being cared for in our hospitals, and 8 are in ICU. Statewide: 20,293 new cases, and 18 more deaths. Unfortunately, two more deaths have been reported in the region. The include a man in his 80s from the Lake Macquarie area and a man in his 60s from the Singleton area. My sincere condolences go out to their family and friends. VACCINATIONS FOR CHILDREN AGED 5 TO 11: COVID-19 vaccinations are avallable for children aged 5 years and older from today. Those children will receive the Pfizer paediatric vaccine, around one third of the dose used for people aged 12 years and older.- If you have questions about the COVID-19 children’s vaccine you can find a fact sheet HERE.

- 81.5% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 78.1% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
