Close contact exposure sites

Argyle House nightclub in Newcastle, Finnegan's Hotel in Newcastle and the University of Newcastle Medical Ball are all close contact exposure sites. Hunter Health has provided the following advice for each of those venues:

UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE MEDICAL BALL - NEWCASTLE EXHIBITION AND CONVENTION CENTRE
Anyone who attended the University of Newcastle Medical Ball at Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (NEX) last Friday night, 10 December, are classified as close contacts and must immediately get tested and isolate for 7 days.
In line with NSW Health advice, all household contacts of close contacts from this exposure site must immediately get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received by everyone in the household.
Self-isolation means you may only leave or let others into your house in an emergency or to get tested.
- If you are fully vaccinated, self-isolate for 7 days from exposure. Minimise your movements and avoid high-risk settings for a further 7 days.
- If you are not fully vaccinated, self-isolate for 14 days from exposure.
NSW Health may provide updated advice regarding your isolation requirements due to the emerging evidence around the Omicron variant.
Close contacts need to have additional tests including a negative test prior to ending isolation. It is important that you read the information about isolation and testing on the NSW health website HERE.
 
FINNEGAN'S HOTEL, DARBY STREET NEWCASTLE
Anyone who attended the following venue at the specified dates and times is classified as a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate according to NSW Health advice:
- Finnegan's Hotel
21 Darby Street, Newcastle
6:30pm Friday 10 December to 2:30am Saturday 11 December
In line with NSW Health advice, all household contacts of close contacts from this exposure site must immediately get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received by everyone in the household.
Self-isolation means you may only leave or let others into your house in an emergency or to get tested.
- If you are fully vaccinated, self-isolate for 7 days from exposure, get a nose and throat (PCR) test at a testing clinic straight away and again on day 6. Minimise your movements and avoid high-risk settings for a further 7 days.
- If you are not fully vaccinated, self-isolate for 14 days from exposure.

THE ARGYLE HOUSE, NEWCASTLE
Anyone who attended between 9pm Wednesday 8 December and 3am Thursday 9 December is now a CLOSE contact.
All close contacts, and members of your household, must immediately get tested and self-isolate. When you go for your COVID-19 test, show this message and ask that your test is marked urgent.
Self-isolation means you may only leave or let others into your house in an emergency or to get tested.
- If you are fully vaccinated, self-isolate at least until 15 December 2021 (7 days from exposure). Minimise your movements and avoid high-risk settings for a further 7 days.
- If you are not fully vaccinated, self-isolate at least until 22 December 2021 (14 days from exposure).
All other members of your household are required to test and isolate until everyone in the household has returned a negative result.
