COVID UPDATE - TUESDAY DECEMBER 7
Two new cases in Lake Macquarie today, but in great news, there is now only one person being treated in local hospitals for Covid, and none in ICU.
Lower Hunter: 4 new cases
Hunter health district: 7 new cases.
Statewide: 208 new cases.
Of the new cases in the health district:
2 are from Lake Macquarie LGA
- 1 from Cardiff South
- 1 from Glendale
2 are from Newcastle LGA
- 1 from Merewether
- 1 from Warabrook

3 are from Mid Coast LGA
- 2 from Harrington
- 1 from Wingham
- 1 of the total active cases is currently being cared for in hospital.
- 3 cases are linked and 3 are unlinked. 1 is under investigation.
- 3 were infectious in the community and 3 were isolating while infectious. 1 is under investigation.
STATEWIDE
- 94.7% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 92.8% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 81.3% of people aged 12-15 have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 77.2% of people aged 12-15 have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
Over the past 24 hours:
- 58,706 tests
- 260 total new cases
- 155 people in hospital
- 28 people in ICU
- 2 deaths
