¿ 34 NEW LOCAL CASES
¿ There were 249 new cases reported statewide in the past 24 hours, with 73 of those in the Hunter-New England health district. Given the high number of cases in the huge health district which are well out of the local region, I'll put today's figure for the Hunter Region at 34 with 7 in Lake Macquarie.
¿ OF THE NEW LOCAL CASES IN THE HUNTER REGION:
¿ 15 are from Newcastle LGA
- 4 from Shortland
- 2 from North Lambton
- 2 from Birmingham Gardens
- 2 from Fletcher
- 2 from Mayfield
- 1 from Adamstown
- 1 from Hamilton
- 1 from New Lambton
¿ 7 are from Lake Macquarie LGA
- 3 from Windale
- 1 from Belmont North
- 1 from Fassifern
- 1 from Jewells
- 1 from Speers Point
¿ 6 are from Cessnock LGA
- 3 from Cessnock
- 2 from Rothbury
- 1 from Bellbird
¿ 4 are from Port Stephens LGA
- 2 from Raymond Terrace
- 1 from Nelson Bay
- 1 from Tomago
¿ 1 is from Maitland LGA
- 1 from Rutherford

¿ 16 of the total active cases are currently being
cared for in hospital. 3 are currently in ICU.
¿ 50 cases are linked, 10 are unlinked, 13 are still
under investigation.
¿ 48 were infectious in the community. 12 were
isolating while infectious. 13 are still under
investigation.
¿ STATEWIDE:
- 93.8% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 89.1% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
In the 24 hours to 8pm last night:
- 80,581 tests
- 249 new locally acquired cases
- 0 new overseas acquired cases
- 249 total new cases
- 285 people in hospital
- 61 people in ICU
- 3 deaths
¿ WALK-IN VAX CLINIC AT TORONTO ON SUNDAY: HNE Health will hold a walk-in Pfizer vaccination clinic at Toronto's Westlakes Community Health Centre this Sunday from 10am to 2pm. The clinic (at 6 James St) will offer:
-1st and 2nd dose for 12 years+
-booster dose for 18 years + if it's been 6months since your 2nd dose; and
- 3rd dose for immunocompromised people.
No appointments necessary, just walk in with your mask, your Medicare card and ID.
