¿ There were 103 new cases in the Hunter Health district in the 24 hours to 8pm, including 15 in Lake Macquarie. These new cases take the total number in the latest Hunter outbreak to 1995.
¿ Of those new cases :
¿ 19 are from Tamworth Regional LGA
- 8 in Tamworth
- 7 in Oxley Vale
- 3 in South Tamworth
- 1 in West Tamworth
¿ 18 are from Newcastle LGA
- 4 in Lambton
- 3 in Wallsend
- 3 in Bar Beach
- 2 in Mayfield

- 1 in Maryland

¿ 16 are from Cessnock LGA

¿ 21 local people are being cared for in hospital. Four are in ICU.
¿ STATUS AND CLOSE CONTACTS: Of those new cases, 79 are linked, 15 are unlinked and 9 are still under investigation. Further, 41 were infectious in the community, while 53 were isolating while infectious and the remaining 9 are still under investigation.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: New exposure sites named by HNE Health overnight include a respiratory clinic at Raymond Terrace, Laverty Pathology at Wallsend, the obstetrics suite at Newcastle Private Hospital and venues at Hamilton, Rutherford, Cessnock, Maitland and Newcastle. ¿ POP-UP VAX CLINIC AT TORONTO: Just a reminder that there will be a pop-up Pfizer vaccination clinic at Toronto on Sunday October 17. It will be held at the Toronto Community Health centre, 6 James St from 10am to 2pm. Open to everyone aged 12+, but children 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
¿ STATEWIDE in the past 24 hours:
- 91.1% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 76.5% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 85,133 tests
- 406 new locally acquired cases
- 1 new overseas acquired cases
- 407 new total cases
- 711 people in hospital
- 143 people in ICU
- 6 deaths
