BREAKING NEWS - CHANGES TO RESTRICTIONS
The new NSW premier Dominic Perrottet has announced a few changes to the 'roadmap out of restrictions' this morning. I don't have full details yet and won't be able to answer the more nuanced questions, but the changes are summarised below.
SCHOOLS will return completely by October 25 with Covid safety measures in place, with the first stage (kindergarten, Yr 1 and Yr 12) now going back on October 18.
VACCINATION STATUS FOR WORKERS: All workers in regional areas such as Lake Macquarie will be able to go back to work on Monday October 11 with just one vaccine dose, with a grace period until November 1 to receive their second dose.
INDOOR POOLS will be able to reopen on Monday October 11. This won't be a free-for-all, though. Learn-to-swim classes for kids will be allowed to operate, dedicated lane swimming and things like hydrotherapy sessions will be allowed.
MASKS will only be mandatory in indoor offices until the State hits the 80% double vax target.
HOME VISITATIONS allowed from Monday with a cap of 10 (not including children aged under 10). Remember that these rules apply only to those who are double vaccinated.
As above, OUTDOOR GATHERINGS of up to 30 double vaccinated people will be allowed, while weddings and funerals will also be allowed to have up to 100 fully vaccinated guests.
I will post more details when I have them.
