¿ COSTCO CLUSTER GROWS TO SIX CASES
¿ 2.45pm Monday August 23
¿ The Costco cluster has now grown to six cases, although only three of those are believed to be in the local area with the remainder in Sydney. HNE Health has today urged people who were originally classified as a 'casual contact' to get tested again as soon as possible and isolate until a negative result is received. Full statement from Hunter Health here:
¿¿ New Costco associated cases ¿¿
The outbreak at Costco has grown to a total of six known cases (some of who reside in Sydney), with transmission on site indicating a strong likelihood that there will be more cases.
A newly diagnosed case from Sydney was associated with the Costco fuel station and the external membership office.
All members of the public who attended either the Costco Fuel Station or the onsite membership office last week (Monday 16 to Friday 20 August inclusive) are requested to get tested for COVID today or tomorrow and to isolate until their result is available.
Many people will have been advised that they are casual contacts already and many have had a test in recent days. This group now is required to have an additional test.
The risk associated with this venue has been reassessed following the new information we have received, which is why we are requesting casual contacts have an additional test.
Prompt testing and isolation will help prevent this cluster growing in our community.
