¿ COVID UPDATE - 11AM Friday August 6 ¿
¿ 2 New local cases / New record of cases in Sydney
¿ Hope you're all hanging in there! A tough, confusing, worrying time, but we'll do what we have to do and hopefully get our lives back to normal soon.
¿ In today's numbers just announced by the Premier and NSW Health, two new cases have been identified in Newcastle, so there are now 7 in total. Importantly, both new cases are household contacts of existing cases. That means they have not acquired the virus in the broader community, which is good news.
¿ In Sydney, however, there were 291 new cases recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
¿ There are 304 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 50 in ICU and 22 on ventilators. Sadly, another death occurred overnight. That brings the total death toll from the latest Sydney outbreak to 22.
¿ Hunter Health is operating far better than NSW Health in providing an updated list of local exposure sites. I'll be continuing to repost that info on my Facebook page so you can keep up to date with it there. All the rules which relate to the Stay At Home Order are also there.
¿ We're still a bit overwhelmed again with calls, emails and Facebook questions. Again, I apologise for not getting to all the Facebook questions, but please know that the answers to many of the questions can be answered in the posts and links I'm providing.
¿ Please be assured that I will post any updates as soon as I have them. In the meantime, stay vigilant and please stay safe.
