Boolaroo Digger honoured in road naming

The Costco development at Boolaroo has moved a step closer this morning with construction starting on the new road that will link the centre with Munibung Road.

The road will be called Cressy Road, honouring local Boolaroo resident and decorated ex-serviceman Private Henry (Harry) Cressy.

It was great to join members of the Cressy family at the site this morning.

Henry was a locomotive driver at Pasminco before he joined the Australian Imperial Force in WWI. He sadly lost his life in the Battle of Fromelles on July 19, 1916.

What a great way to honour his legacy.
