¿ COVID UPDATE - Tuesday April 6
¿ I hope you all had a good Easter break. The good news is that things are still tracking along OK on the Covid front. No cases of community transmission in NSW since the case in Byron Bay last Wednesday.
¿ Lockdowns and restrictions in the Byron Bay area, and also in Queensland, have now been lifted.
¿ On the vaccination front, the number of local GPs offering the vaccination will double this week, so don't forget to check in with your local GP to see when you're eligible for the shot. There were 813 vaccinations in NSW yesterday, bringing the total in NSW so far to 127,339. You can check eligibility criteria here.
¿ The Hunter Region has now gone 243 days without a locally-transmitted case.
¿ NSW currently has 41 active cases (all are returned travellers in quarantine). QLD has 70, Victoria has 1, WA has 18, SA has 13 and the NT has 6. The ACT and Tasmania have zero.
¿ Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 of those in NSW.
