¿ COVID UPDATE - Thursday February 25
¿ A further easing of restrictions will take place at midnight tonight, meaning we're not far off getting back to life as it was pre-Covid. A summary of those changes is in the graphic below.
¿ The vaccination of Hunter Health staff began yesterday, which is great news. This is a very complex and long rollout, but please be assured that vaccines will be available to everyone locally, and I will post details of that program when it's finalised.
¿ For the 39th day in a row, NSW recorded no new cases of community transmission in the past 24 hours. There were 7 new cases among the returned overseas travellers. They are of course in quarantine and were at the time of their infectious period.
¿ The Hunter Region has now gone 203 days without a locally-transmitted case.
¿ The number of active cases in Victoria is 16. There are 8 in QLD, 3 in WA, 4 in SA and 2 in the NT. Tasmania, the ACT and NSW have zero active cases.
¿ Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
¿ Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
¿ Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately
