COVID UPDATE - Tuesday February 2 Was thinking about pausing the daily updates but I'm worried that might jinx our good run! No new cases of community transmission anywhere in NSW for the 16th consecutive day. Low testing numbers remain a concern for NSW Health, though. The Hunter-New England region has now gone 179 days without a locally-acquired case. There were 2 new cases among the returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine over the past 24 hours. The number of active cases in NSW is down to 15. Victoria has 22, just 7 in QLD, 13 in WA, and 2 in the NT. Tasmania, SA and the ACT have zero active cases. Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria. Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult. Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately.
