Bay loses a wonderful character in Taffy Davies

Saddened to learn that Taffy Davies has passed away at Bonnells Bay, not far off his 100th birthday. He was a tremendous bloke who had a fascinating life and a wicked sense of humour.
Taffy came to Australia from London in the 50s after quite a distinguished service career, mainly with the Royal Navy. He lived at Stroud and Toronto before finally settling at Bonnells.
At the age of 80, he wrote his life story into a book called My Journey Through Life, and I still have a copy on my bookshelf.
Such a wonderful character and a very sad loss for his family and the local community.

Taffy's funeral will be held at Morisset Uniting Church next Wednesday from 1pm.
