?? COVID UPDATE - Friday January 15
?? In a carbon copy of yesterday, there were zero new cases of community transmission anywhere in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm, and just 2 new cases among the returned overseas travellers.
?? A very sad milestone was reached this morning when the GLOBAL DEATH TOLL PASSED 2MILLION. The situations in the UK, the US and Europe are horrendous and will likely get worse before things improve. Combined with a growing second wave in Africa, Covid-19 is now claiming about 15,000 lives a day globally. We're so lucky to live where we do.
?? The Hunter-New England region has now gone 161 days without a locally-acquired case.
?? Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
?? The number of active cases in NSW is 173. Victoria has 28, there are 30 in QLD, 17 in WA, 11 in SA and 19 in the NT. Tasmania and the ACT have zero.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately.
