Work to start on new arts hub

I was joined by Minister for the Arts Don Harwin today to mark the start of construction of the new Multi-Arts Pavilion in Speers Point Park.
The NSW Government has put $1.34 million from the Regional Cultural Fund towards the project, which will see Speers Point become one of the State's premier cultural destinations.
It will host digital and visual art displays during the day and performance shows and outdoor events in the evenings. It will also complement MAC - Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie.
University of Newcastle Alumni Samantha Bailey designed the pavilion and I think she has done an excellent job.
I'm very excited to see this project come to life.
