One of Lake Macquarie's most renowned muso's will be farewelled at a private ceremony today.
Wakefield resident Ronnie Peel, who many might remember as Rockwell T James, sadly passed away last week.
Ronnie was a bassist well known for his solo 1977 hit Roxanne, his work with the La De Das and another Lake Macquarie music legend John Paul Young.
I first met Ronnie years ago when he sought my help to fight off an open-cut mine in the area.
He was a great bloke and loved Lake Macquarie, and will be missed by his family and friends.
