Heidi Lightfoot and Skye Lyden
Cooranbong Public School was the first school established in Lake Macquarie, opening its doors to 38 students in 1861. Over the past 163 years, the school has served generations of families and developed a reputation for providing a caring and supportive school environment. I would like to congratulate two Cooranbong Public School teachers who have each clocked up an admirable 20-years of service with the Department of Education. Heidi Lightfoot is an asset to her profession and has a reputation for being an exceptionally organised, kind, and patient educator, driven by her commitment to being a positive role model for her students. Heidi frequently assumes leadership roles, providing invaluable support to her colleagues. Her empathetic and nurturing nature helps her students strive to be the best versions of themselves. Skye Lyden is a natural leader, who consistently goes above and beyond to assist those around her, placing the needs of her students at the forefront of her decision-making. Skye exhibits a passion for leading curriculum development for High Potential and Gifted students and shows a keen interest in improving the educational outcomes for Aboriginal students. Congratulations Heidi and Skye.
