I would like to acknowledge Sandie Redman, owner of Café 2283 in Toronto, for her outstanding commitment to supporting our local community throughout 2025. Sandie is a small business owner who consistently gives back, using her café as a place of connection, generosity and care. Late last year, Sandie set up a Giving Tree at Café 2283, encouraging locals to donate toys for the Southlakes Inc Christmas toy and hamper drive. Sandie then delivered a truckload of toys to Southlakes Inc, which were distributed to children across NSW. Sandie also supported fundraising efforts for Toronto High School P&C by donating one dollar from every coffee sold and matching cash donations made in store. The café has backed other important causes as well, including Walk for Cindy, donating 50 cents from every hot coffee sold. Beyond fundraising, Sandie regularly promotes other local businesses and community organisations through the café's social media pages. On Anzac Day, Café 2283 offered free coffee to anyone wearing service badges as a simple but meaningful gesture of thanks. Thank you, Sandie, for continuing to support the Lake Macquarie community, your efforts are noticed and very much appreciated.
