In just two years, the growth of the Lake Mac Triathlon Festival was recognised by being featured on the national triathlon calendar, attracting competitors from across NSW and beyond. Held at Speers Point Park on the 8th March, the Festival brought together swimmers, cyclists and runners of all ages and abilities for a weekend of triathlon, aquathlon and open-water swimming. The 2026 edition also featured the Super Sprint distance as an Australian Championship event, highlighting the calibre of competition the Festival now attracts. I acknowledge the Lake Macquarie Triathlon Club, whose ongoing support and participation help grow the sport locally. Club members assisted with event preparation, volunteer support, and athlete encouragement, ensuring the Festival was welcoming, safe and well-run for all participants. Paul Humphreys and the team at H Events, as well as all volunteers and local supporters, have my gratitude for making the Festival such an amazing success.
