I would like to recognise an outstanding young man from our community, Morisset High School student, Jarvis Watson, who has achieved something truly remarkable. Jarvis has been selected for the prestigious Under 16s Indigenous All Stars USA Tour in 2026, an honour that reflects both his talent and his incredible work ethic. During the three-week tour, Jarvis will compete against Junior Varsity basketball teams across California and Utah, attend an NBA game in Los Angeles, and learn directly from professional players. Importantly, he will also have the opportunity to connect with Native American communities and gain a deeper appreciation of their cultural history. Jarvis is only 14 years old, yet he already shows the discipline and determination of a much older athlete, often beginning training at 5am to chase his goals. His dedication is inspiring, and his selection is very well deserved. A special acknowledgement goes to Aunty Selena Archibald for her support in helping Jarvis through the All Stars application process. She is a guiding light for all those fortunate enough to cross her path. Congratulations to Jarvis and his family on this incredible achievement.
