Major Issues in the Electorate
The most important issues facing this area are the ones that affect day to-day-life, such as health, public transport, the cost of basic services, policing, and of course the lake and our natural environment.
I remain opposed to cost increases for services such as water, electricity and garbage while the state-owned when so much of what we pay is dividends or levies collect by the Government and not returned. The costs to consumers of fattening the state's electricity industry ready for sale is the worst of this and these price rises are the hardest to bear.
There are many good-hearted community groups providing volunteer services to fill the gaps in what the Government provides. If you would like to know more, please read my speeches in Parliament. I am fortunate in being able to also have input into important matters as Mayor of Lake Macquarie.
