Woodrising Traffic Lights
There have been many complaints from motorists that the new traffic lights interfere badly with southbound traffic and cause an increased number of rear-end collisions.
I have raised this matter in Parliament and on Friday 10 September a meeting was held in my office with community representatives and the Newcastle office of the RTA to discuss this and other matters. Many options for the intersection were discussed and the RTA has indicated that it will consider the effectiveness of simplifying left turns and reprogramming the lights so they interfere less with southbound traffic.
