Wyee Railway station is to get a major upgrade including three new lifts.

Other improvements proposed include accessible pathways, an additional accessible parking space, a new kiss-and-ride space and a new family accessible restroom.

Lake Macquarie State Independent MP Greg Piper has invited the Wyee community to learn more about the proposed upgrade at a ‘pop up’ information session at Wyee Station run by Transport for NSW staff on Thursday evening (November 8) 5pm – 7pm.

The changes are being fundced under the Transport Access Program to provide safe, modern and

accessible transport infrastructure across NSW.

“I am delighted that these upgrades will make Wyee Station accessible to everybody, including those with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams and customers with luggage,” Mr Piper said.

“This ‘pop up’ information session is a great opportunity for the Wyee community and public transport customers to find out more about the planned improvements.”

The NSW Government has invested more than $1 billion in the Transport Access Program since 2011. To date, more than 450 projects are either completed or underway across the state.
