The State's Valuer-General released new land values for Lake Macquarie properties in January.

Values rose sharply in some areas which is good news for some, but bad news for housing affordability.

Some landowners - mostly landlords - have contacted me with concerns about their 2017 valuations because they will have a significant impact on the amount of land tax they have to pay.

Most importantly, those landowners who have to pay land tax only have 60 days to object or challenge their valuations, so there isn't much time left.

Your land valuation is available on the link below, and so is the link to challenge your valuation.

By the way, the 2017 valuations won't affect your council rates this year because Lake Macquarie council is currently using the 2016 valuations.
