Sporting groups invited to apply for grants

LOCAL sporting groups are invited to apply for state government grants for the installation of a heart defibrillator at their local grounds. 

“The defibrillator, or AED, is a life-saving device which delivers a controlled shock to someone experiencing cardiac arrest, increasing the chances of survival,” Lake Macquarie MP Greg Piper said. 

“They're handy things to have around the place.”  

Information about the grants program is available atsport.nsw.gov.au. Applications close on December 20, Mr Piper said.
