Maurice Ashton captures incredible shots of an eagle ray at Eraring

Photographer Maurice Ashton from Cooranbong captured this incredible shot of an eagle ray leaping from the water at the Eraring hot water outlet yesterday. Here's how he described the moment on his Facebook page:
"I don't know how many times I have visited the Eraring Power Station outlet over the years to photograph birds. I have seen/heard the big ray jump a number of times but usually the action is all over before I can get the camera into position and photograph it. And you don't get any warning. Today it jumped in front of me while I was looking through the camera. After 287 visits, I have finally nailed it! I think it is an Eagle Ray, but I am not a fish expert and hopefully an expert will give my an exact ID."
