There were only 265 cases reported statewide in the past 24 hours, but 63 of those were reported in the Hunter-New England health district. Of those local cases

¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.00am Monday October 18
¿ There were only 265 cases reported statewide in the past 24 hours, but 63 of those were reported in the Hunter-New England health district. Of those local cases, 15 were in Lake Macquarie. These new cases take the total number in the latest Hunter outbreak to 2260.
¿ Sadly, a woman in her 30s has died with COVID 19 in John Hunter Hospital. She had not received any doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions. Our sincere condolences go out to her family and friends.

cared for in hospital. 4 are currently in ICU.
¿ 39 are linked, 17 are unlinked, and 7 are still
under investigation.
¿ 30 were infectious in the community. 26 were
isolating while infectious. 7 are still under
investigation.
¿ STATEWIDE:
- 92% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 80.3% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine
- 60,273 tests
- 265 new locally acquired cases
- 1 new overseas acquired cases
- 606 people in hospital
- 132 people in ICU
- 5 deaths
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: New exposure sites named by HNE Health overnight include sites at Charlestown, Bellbird, East Maitland and Rutherford. Full details on the new sites (including a link to the full list at NSW Health) are on my website HERE.
¿ RESTRICTIONS EASED FURTHER FOR FULLY VAXED: From today, further restrictions are lifted for people who are fully vaccinated (as well as those who have a medical exemption certificate). Please note that for those who are not vaccinated, or are still awaiting their second dose, the stay at home rules still apply until Dec 1, but you can still exercise and shop for essentials in your local area, and attend any medical appointments. ¿ TESTING: Testing remains a really important part of our battle with Covid-19. Please don't be complacent. If you experience any symptoms, get tested as soon as possible.
