Vaccination update: pop-up clinics and Pfizer vaccines arrive

VACCINATION NEWS A couple of things I wanted to pass on following a meeting I had with Hunter Health today. Firstly, the Belmont vaccination hub has plenty of Pfizer appointments available every day this month, including tomorrow. If you want to bring your existing appointment forward, simply get online and book, and don't forget to cancel the original booking. Having said that, the hub is experiencing a large number of people not turning up for their appointments. This is likely due to people making numerous appointments or bringing their initial appointments forward and not cancelling the originals. The hub had 400 'no-shows' on Saturday and that's really disappointing when so many other people are waiting. If you have an old appointment date which you no longer need, please cancel it so others can fill the spot. There will be a walk-in day for hospitality workers at Belmont this weekend. I will post more details later in the week when I have them. In more good news, there will be a pop up vax clinic at Morisset and Toronto one day next week. These will be walk-in clinics open to everyone aged 12+ with no appointments necessary (priority given to the more vulnerable in our community). Again, I'll keep you posted when times and details are confirmed.
