¿ STATUS AND CLOSE CONTACTS: Of those new cases, 21 are linked, 6 are unlinked and 14 are still under investigation. Unfortunately, 13 were infectious in the community, 16 were isolating while infectious and 12 are still under investigation.
We now have 765 close contacts in the local area who are in isolation.
¿ ACTIVE: There are currently 347 active cases in the local region.
¿ 23 local people are being cared for in hospital. None are
in ICU.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: A number of new exposure sites have been added to the list overnight by Hunter Health. They include The Reject Shop at Morisset and other sites at Mount Hutton, The Junction and Anna Bay. More details on the new sites and a link to the full list of exposure sites can be found on my website HERE.
¿ STATEWIDE: There were 1063 new cases reported throughout NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Sadly, another six deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours.
¿ There have been 266 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021 and 322 in total since the start of the pandemic.
There have been 50,123 locally acquired cases reported since 16 June 2021, when the first case in this outbreak was reported.
¿ HOSPITALISATIONS: There are now 1244 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 233 in ICU and 112 requiring ventilators.
¿ VACCINATION RATES BY POSTCODE: If you missed my post yesterday, the latest vaccination rates by Lake Macquarie postcode are available on my website HERE.
¿ STATEWIDE VACCINATION RATES: Across NSW, 83.6 per cent of the over-16 population has received a first dose COVID-19 vaccine, and 55.5 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11.59pm on Tuesday 21 September 2021.
¿ PRIORITY VACCINATIONS: Priority vaccination appointments are available at the Belmont vaccination hub for health care workers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, school and child care staff, Year 12 students and pregnant women. To book (or to bring an existing priority appointment forward), phone 1800 570 575 or send an email to:
HNELHD-COVIDClinicBookingChange@health.nsw.gov.au.
¿ TESTING: I have again contacted HNE Health and NSW Health about getting the testing centre at Morisset open all weekend. Testing rates in the Hunter region remain worrying low. Please don't be complacent. If you experience any symptoms, please get tested as a precaution.
¿ QUESTIONS: Please see my Facebook or Website pages for answers to frequently asked questions. Service NSW also has a 24/7 hotline where people are available to answer questions. You can reach them on 13 77 88.
¿ STAY SAFE, stay vigilant, and stay home unless you absolutely have to go somewhere.
