Covid update - Tuesday

Another 14 new cases were reported in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. These new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 324.

¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.10am Tuesday September 14
¿ Another 14 new cases were reported in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. These new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 324. There are currently 174 active cases in the local region. While one of those people have died, 149 local people have now fully recovered.
¿ CASE AT MYUNA COLLIERY: Among those new cases is a worker at Myuna Colliery. I've been assured that all close contacts have already been identified and are isolating, so here's hoping that the virus has been contained quickly and the worker recovers well. The mine is now operating again.
¿ OTHER HUNTER CASES:
¿¿ 3 are from Lake Macquarie LGA
¿¿ 2 in Wangi Wangi
¿¿ 1 in Wyee Point
¿¿ 7 are from Newcastle LGA
¿¿ 5 in Mayfield
¿¿ 1 in North Lambton
¿ 1 in Wallsend
¿¿ 2 are from Singleton LGA
¿¿ 2 in Singleton
¿¿ 1 is from Maitland LGA
¿¿ 1 in Tenambit
¿¿ 1 is from Port Stephens LGA
¿¿ 1 in Raymond Terrace

¿ 10 of the Hunter cases are linked (however their sources are
unknown) and 4 are unlinked. Seven were isolating while infectious and 7 were infectious in the community.
¿ 10 people are currently being cared for in hospital and none are in ICU. We also have 555 close contacts are in isolation locally.
¿ A further 9 cases were reported in the Central Coast region to our south yesterday.
¿ STATEWIDE: There were 1127 new cases reported throughout NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Sadly, two more deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours, both in Sydney.
¿ HOSPITALISATIONS: There are 1253 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 231 in ICU and 104 requiring ventilators.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: Toronto Aldi, Coles Toronto, Woolworths Toronto and Stockland Glendale are among a number of new exposure sites announced by HNE Health. You can read full details of those sites here.
¿ VACCINATIONS: Across NSW, 78.8 per cent of the over-16 population has received a first dose COVID-19 vaccine, and 46.5 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11:59pm on Sunday 12 September 2021.
