Still no signs of a zero unfortunately - another 7 new cases were reported in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. These new cases take the total
¿ SEVEN NEW LOCAL CASES / OUTDOOR GATHERING RULE
¿ COVID UPDATE - 11.20am SUNDAY September 12
¿ Still no signs of a zero unfortunately - another 7 new cases were reported in the Hunter Region in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. These new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 292. There are currently 168 active cases.
¿ Of those new cases:
¿ 2 are from Lake Macquarie LGA
- 1 in Balcolyn
- Was infectious in community
- Linked to a known case
- 1 in Fishing Point
- Was infectious in community
- Linked to known case
¿ 3 are from Newcastle LGA
- 1 in Hamilton
- Was infectious in community
- Linked to a known case
- 1 in Mayfield
- Was infectious in community
- Linked to a known case
- 1 in Wallsend
- Was infectious in community
- Under investigation
¿ 1 is from Port Stephens LGA
- in Soldiers Point
- Was infectious in community
- Linked to known case
¿ 1 is from Mid Coast LGA
- in Booral
- Was infectious in community
- Linked to known case
¿ 10 of the total active cases are currently being cared for in hospital and one is in ICU. We also have 505 close contacts are in isolation locally.
¿ A further 33 cases were reported in the Central Coast region to our south yesterday.
¿ STATEWIDE: There were 1262 new cases reported throughout NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Sadly, seven more deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours, all in Sydney.
¿ HOSPITALISATIONS: There are 1220 people currently being treated for Covid-19 in NSW hospitals, with 220 in ICU and 92 requiring ventilators.
¿ OUTDOOR GATHERINGS: From tomorrow, Monday September 13, up to five fully vaccinated people can meet outdoors in their LGA for exercise or recreation such as a picnic in the park or at the beach. I've had a lot of questions about this change, and mostly about the inclusion of children, so I've listed answers to all the frequently asked questions on my website here.
¿ EXPOSURE SITES: HNE Health has released details of a number of new exposure sites, including one at Wangi Wangi, and others at Glendale, Maitland, Salamander Bay, Nelson Bay and Singleton. You can read full details of those sites here.
¿ VACCINATIONS: The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 8,127,752 with 3,008,148 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 5,119,604 administered by the GP network and other providers to 11:59pm on Friday 10 September 2021.
¿ TESTING: Testing numbers in the local area are again low. Please get tested if you experience the mildest of symptoms, particularly if you've been near any of the exposure locations.
