Honours for two exceptional local residents

It was an honour to be invited to speak at a special function which acknowledged two exceptional Lake Macquarie residents.
Gwen Johnston and John Benning were both treasured and vital members of Toronto Community Centenary Hub.
In what was a great loss for the Hub, both of these valued friends passed away earlier this year.
Today, Gwen and John’s families joined with Toronto Hub members at the unveiling of two special memorial plaques. Gwen’s has been placed above a sensory garden that has been named in her honour, while John, who was the Hub’s neighbour and gatekeeper for 21 years, is remembered with a plaque on the Hub’s gate.
