?? COVID UPDATE - Wednesday January 20
?? Some better news today. NO NEW CASES of community transmission in NSW for the third consecutive day, and testing numbers are up.
?? Further to my comments yesterday about a possible easing of restrictions, particularly on the Central Coast, the Premier and NSW Health have indicated that restrictions will not be eased until testing numbers are higher and there is greater certainty that Covid is not circulating beneath the surface in those communities.
?? The Hunter-New England region has now gone 166 days without a locally-acquired case.
?? There was also 3 new cases among the returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine over the past 24 hours.
?? Australia's death toll remains at 909 with 56 in NSW and 820 in Victoria.
?? The number of active cases in NSW has fallen again and now stands at 98. Victoria has 34, there are 25 in QLD, 14 in WA, 11 in SA and 8 in the NT. Tasmania and the ACT have zero.
?? Please continue to stay safe, vigilant, maintain the social distancing, and wear a mask if you have to visit places where social distancing is difficult.
?? Don't forget, if you have any symptoms, however minor, please self-isolate and get tested immediately.
